Synopsis
Kafkanians Printers is a sound art installation that deals with the possibilities of composition with textures and spacialization of sounds of dot matrix printers processed in real time through commands typed in social networks besides proposing a critical view of the marketing concept of planned obsolescence.
Description
The interactor is invited to send twitters with pre-estabilished comands. These instructions change sound parameters like pan, reverb, delay and volume. By using this comands, displayed in the space, the interactor will be able to change audio parameters of the system. Moreover, in order to establish an efficient interaction with the installation, the interactor must also negotiate with the others interactors, enabling collective creation possibilities.
We conducted a performance in the opening and closing of the exhibition with the participation of the musician Marcelo Ozório. We played analog synthesizers, vocoder, guitar and glockenspiel.
