Sinopse

Série de obras homônimas que problematiza as recentes catástrofes ambientais e a flexibilização da legislação ambiental promovida pela necropolítica do governo de direita Bolsonaro no Brasil. ‘Boiada’, em português, é uma referência à frase “deixa passar a boiada”, dita pelo ex-ministro do Meio Ambiente, Ricardo Salles, em relação aos diversos casos de descumprimento da legislação ambiental no país, e as intenções do governo em liberalizar a mineração ilegal e o desmatamento em reservas indígenas.

Na imagem acima, a performance realizada na noite de encerramento da exposição retrospectiva da artista brasileira Regina Silveira no Museu de Arte Contemporânea de São Paulo – MAC – USP.

Synopsis

Series of homonymous artworks that problematizes recent environmental catastrophes and the flexibilization of the environmental legislation promoted by the necropolitics of the alt-right government Bolsonaro in Brazil. ‘Boiada’ in Portuguese, is a reference to the phrase “let the cattle herd pass”, said by the former Environment Minister Ricardo Salles, in relation to  the several cases of non-compliance with environmental legislation in the country, and the government intentions to liberate illegal mining and deforestation in indigenous reserves.
